Family weekly planner, Sunday start

The week runs Sunday to Saturday, as on most US calendars. Page 1 is the family schedule, page 2 the meal plan, chores and grocery list.

Family weekly planner, Monday start

The same two pages with the week running Monday to Sunday, so the weekend sits together at the end.

How to plan the family week

  1. Pick a planning time. Ten minutes on Sunday evening works for many families. Bring everyone's school notes, work shifts and invitations.
  2. Fill in each person's row. Write what is fixed first: school, work, appointments, birthday parties.
  3. Add kids' activities and pickups. Use the activities row for practice, lessons and clubs, and write who drives and who picks up. This is where most weekly mix-ups happen.
  4. Plan meals around the busy days. Put quick dinners or leftovers on days with late activities, and save new recipes for quieter evenings.
  5. Share out the chores. Write each chore and who does it. Kids tick a box when it's done.
  6. Write the grocery list last. Go through the meal plan and add what you need, then take a photo of the list before you shop.

Good to know

Before you print

Is the family weekly planner free?

Yes. The PDFs and the fill-in planner are free for personal and family use. There is no sign-up and no email needed.

Is what I type in the online planner saved anywhere?

Only in your own browser. The planner stores what you type on this device so it is still there next time. Nothing is sent to our server. Use “Clear all” to remove it.

How many family members fit on the planner?

There are five name rows, plus a row for kids’ activities and pickups and a row for things the whole family does together. For a bigger family, write two names in one row or print two copies.

Can the week start on Monday?

Yes. Download the Monday-start PDF, or choose Monday under “Week starts on” in the online planner.

Which paper size should I choose?

Use US Letter in the United States and Canada and A4 in most other countries. The planner is landscape. Select 100% or “Actual size” when you print.

Why are there two pages?

Page 1 is the family schedule. Page 2 has the meal plan, the chore chart and the grocery list. Print both pages double-sided, or print page 2 on its own to stick on the fridge.
